Meet Barry
Johnson-Smith
As the founder of BJS Consulting, Barry Johnson-Smith has over five years of experience working with businesses, institutions, and organizations in implementing their DEI programs and initiatives. He values the impact on the lives of marginalized people in these spaces. He created BJS Consulting because he saw that the organizations he coached wanted to make their organization more diverse, inclusive and equitable, but struggled on how to make that happen. He saw a need to help organizations with their DEI endeavors.
Barry Johnson-Smith is a 26 year old Black male who has been living in Hillsboro, Oregon since 2019. He graduated from Georgia Tech with a B.S in Computer Engineering and a minor in Computer Science. In his free time, Barry practices martial arts, watch NBA games, and spends quality times with friends.
Barry’s Philosophy
Barry takes time to unpack your organization’s polices, programs, and culture to understand your specific issues that are hindering your organization from being diverse, equitable, and inclusive. He will work collaboratively with you on developing sustainable solutions that will enable you to implement your DEI initiatives for the present and create a future where DEI is embedded within your organization’s culture.
